Do you offer comps for play in the Bodog Poker Room?

Due to the peer-to-peer nature of multi-player poker we do not offer bonuses based on play. However, while you play you are earning Bodog Poker Points that will give you entry to special tournaments and events. Why was the player image I uploaded rejected?

We have limited the player picture uploads to those that we feel are appropriate to the Bodog Poker Community. Any images that may be deemed offensive to any member of our community might be rejected as unsuitable. These images include those that could be considered sexist or racist.

Do Bodog employees play on the site?

Bodog employees are strictly forbidden from playing in the Bodog Poker Room. You may see Bodog Poker Customer Service Representatives visiting various tables as "hosts" in order to answer questions and inform players of special events. When this feature is activated, you may chat with a CSR directly at your table.

Can I transfer Bodog Poker Points to another player?

Bodog Poker Points are non-transferable. These points can be used for entry to select tournaments and special events. Please check the Bodog Poker Calendar of Events by clicking here for the latest on these events.

How do my All-In disconnection protections work?

Each player is allowed two protected All-Ins disconnects per day. Should you exceed this limit, please email Bodog Poker Customer Service at poker@bodog.com. Bodog Poker Management may, at their sole discretion, reset your all-in limit.

Does Bodog Poker use props/shills?

Bodog Poker does not employ any props or shills for any of our ring game tables or tournaments.

Can I play Bodog Poker on my Mac?

Currently Bodog Poker does not support the Macintosh platform. If you have Virtual PC you can use this utility to run the Bodog Poker client. We are working to provide a Macintosh software solution in the very near future.

How can I change my Bodog Poker player name?

Player names are the basis of your identity within the Bodog Poker Community. To ensure the integrity of this community, we allow users to change their player names only under extreme circumstances. Should you feel your situation warrants the change, please contact us at 1-866-909-2237 to speak with a Customer Service Representative. Bodog Poker Management reserves the right to deny any changes.

What can I do if another player is being abusive or rude in the chat room?

At Bodog Poker we expect everybody to be respectful of other players while using the chat. If you feel that another player is being abusive towards you or other players, please email poker@bodog.com and provide us with the table name and the player name of the user involved. We will work very hard on behalf of our players to ensure that our poker room is a positive place to draw cards.

Do I have to visit the site to play in the Bodog Poker room?

Once you have downloaded the software you will not need to visit the site to play with Bodog Poker. The software is now located on your computer. To begin playing, simply click on the Bodog Poker icon on your desktop and login to your Bodog account using your account number (not screen name) and password.

Can I play at more than one table?

Currently players are permitted to play at a maximum of 3 tables at once. This number includes both tournament and ring game tables.

What does the notepad icon indicate?

The small notepad that you see indicates that you have previously written a note for that player. To view the note simply click on the icon or right-click on the player image and select "View Notes". The note for that player will appear in the side panel to the right of the gameplay table You can also edit notes from that screen.

How do I register for a tournament?

Registering for any one of our many tournaments is easy. Simply click on 'Multi Table Tournaments' tab in your Bodog Poker software, and choose the tournament you wish to play in from the list. Double-click on the tournament name and a new Tournament Lobby will appear. From the Tournament Lobby you will be able to click 'Register'.

What is Rake and how is it calculated?

Because poker is a game played against other players and not against the house, Bodog collects a small amount from each pot as compensation for hosting the table. Bodog Poker's rake is 5%, and never exceeds $3.00 per pot. For more detailed information on our rake click here.

How Do I Check My Hand Histories?

While playing poker, you can click the "Prev #" near the bottom left-hand corner of the table window. This will open the hand history in a new window for you to review. Hand Histories may also be viewed by clicking on the "Account & Preferences" tab and selecting the "Hand History" tab to open the search page. You may input a specific Hand History into the Hand ID search box, or look for hands by Game Type and Time. Simply input the information related to the hand history that you wish to view, and click the "Search" button to bring up the relevant Hand Histories.

Getting Started with Bodog Online Poker

STEP 1. Open an account

Already have an account? Proceed to Step 2.

STEP 2. Download & Install

The software will automatically run after installation. In the future, you can open Bodog Poker at any time by double-clicking the Bodog Poker icon on your desktop.

STEP 3. Choose Your Player Name

The thrills of Bodog Poker begin when you choose your player name and fill in the required information to open an account. The name you select will be used to identify you in the Bodog Community. Establishing an account does not signify a financial or binding commitment to Bodog, and is solely used to enable a player to play on the Bodog web site.

STEP 4. Choose a Personalized Player Image

Another way to personalize your identity at Bodog Poker is to add a player image. This image will be displayed along with your Player Name while you're seated at a table. To add your image, click the 'Account & Preferences' tab at the top of the window, then click the 'My Profile' tab and 'Select a Player Image'. This will let you select an image saved on your computer to use as a display image at the tables. For complete instructions, please visit the Player Images page of our website.

Play Money

All new accounts at Bodog Poker are automatically credited with 1,000 play chips and are ready for play at our Play Money Tables. If your play money balance drops below 500, you may add an additional 1,000 play money chips by clicking on the 'My Account' tab in the Account & Preferences section and then selecting 'Play Money'.

Real Money

To fund your Bodog account to play at our real money tables, select the 'deposit' link near the top of this page and follow the instructions displayed. You may also access the 'deposit' page from the Bodog Poker game software by clicking the 'Make a Deposit' button at the top of the main Lobby window. Note: you must be logged in to see the 'Make a Deposit' button.

Game Features

In an effort to provide you with the most enjoyable online poker experience, we've included some software features. As we are continually working to add and improve the software features, new additions will be listed below, as they are made available.

Player Image:

Along with your screen name, you can select a player image that will give you an identity while playing at the tables. The image you select can be scaled and resized to fit the player plaque. The feature to select your image can be found under the 'Tools' menu in the Bodog Poker software. Full details on the 'Select Player Image' process can be found here.

Player Statistics:

As you play at the tables, statistics are kept on all of your actions. This allows you to analyze your play in real time or after your poker session. You will find this feature at the table by clicking the 'Stats' link near the bottom left hand corner of the table window.

Stats are kept for all games. At the start of each session, your new session's stats will be added to your previous session's stats. Depending on how you wish to use your stats, you may want to reset your stats by clicking the 'Reset' button in the bottom right hand corner of the Stats display.

Opponent Notes:

One key component to playing poker is knowing how your opponent may act in specific situations. To keep track of a player's style when playing in the Bodog Poker Room you will be able to keep notes on all your opponents.

When at any table, select the 'Notes' button near the bottom left corner. You can then select the player's screen name from the drop down menu to display the notes you have for that player. If you have not taken any previous notes, you can enter them now for future reference.

Another way to access player notes for a particular player at a table is to right click on the player's plaque. Select the 'Edit Player Notes' from the drop down menu. The bottom right hand corner will automatically take you to the notes for that player.

All notes that you keep are stored on your computer so that only you will ever be able to see them. Notes taken during one game session will be there for subsequent game sessions that you play on the same computer.

Game Fairness

Collusion

For as long as there has been poker, there has been collusion. Collusion is when two or more players communicate information about their hands during the course of play. This is done to increase the chances of winning a hand, and to increase the amount of money won.

Bodog is strongly committed to detecting all forms of collusion, and has several methods to do so. A combination of automatic and manual checks ensures that all players involved in collusion will be identified and have their accounts permanently closed.

A strong poker community is also an effective defense against collusion. It is in every player's interest to be vigilant about fair play and to communicate any suspicions to Bodog Poker Customer Support.

Card Shuffling

Bodog uses the latest random shuffling technology to ensure that all hands dealt are in no way duplicates or prone to patterns.

Each deck and hand is uniquely generated using a combination of algorithms and random number generators. Bodog's random number generator is fed input from several factors involving unpredictable sources and mathematical seeding. The combination of these two factors results in a truly random deal and distribution of cards. It is impossible for any player to gain knowledge or foresight of the cards to come, and therefore no one can profit from it.

Security

Bodog is committed to ensuring the highest levels of protection and security for all parties. All communications between Bodog's servers and a player's software client are protected using the highest levels of industry encryption algorithms (SSLv3/TLSv1). Any personal information that a player transmits to Bodog is protected in the same way as if they were using their bank online. Any possible or future efforts to intercept information or data have been addressed and proactively prevented by Bodog's high level of security precautions.
